Former South African President Nelson Mandela made the point that things seem impossible until they are done. That really resonates with my work with business owners. For the past few years, we have been facing the uncertainties brought about or exacerbated by the Covid_19 pandemic - including staff shortages (all industries), difficulties getting supplies (especially in the construction sector) and (for many people) a sense that they are 'rushed off their feet', with little or no time to work ON their businesses. In other words, in the face of all that challenge, things have seemed impossible for some.

But here's what I know: teamwork makes the dream work. The African proverb 'if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together' sums things up pretty well. Getting the right team in place, with the systems and processes your business needs to run efficiently, makes the impossible, possible. If means you know where you are going, you deliver consistently, you know your numbers so you can make good decisions and, perhaps most importantly, you have chosen to 'go together'.

Be encouraged. Instead of trying to go fast and taking shortcuts, choose to go far by building deep foundations. Be a leader who lives the values underscore by a deep understanding of 'together we can do more'.

Have a great day!
